Why that rule, and what it doesn't tell you

Every manufacturer publishes a dealer network running to hundreds of shops. We imported two of them and got 580 results including hardware stores, hockey shops and 29 Play It Again Sports branches — because being an authorised dealer means a store sells skates, not that anyone there can fit one. Shaping certification is the only published claim we could find about what a shop can actually do to a boot, so it is the whole rule.

What it does not tell you: we have not visited or assessed any of these shops, and certification is Skates U.S.'s judgement rather than ours. The list is nowhere near exhaustive — a great many excellent fitters are not certified by this particular distributor, and their absence here means nothing at all. Coverage outside the Midwest and Northeast is thin.
